How to activate YouTube on Xbox One
The process for accessing YouTube on Xbox one is pretty easy. This is because they have a YouTube app on the Xbox One and when you open the app, you will be given a code with which you will active YouTube at youtube.com/activate.

- On your Xbox one, locate the YouTube app. If that’s the first time you are opening the app, you will have to enter your Google account information so as to be signed in.
- Then go to the sign in & settings options once you have signed in.

- You will be given a code by the application. Write down this code and don’t close the screen
- Once you’ve gotten the code, head over to youtube.com/activate on either your phone or laptop.
- Enter the same google account information you used to sign in on your Xbox one to sign in.
- On the next screen, enter the code that you got from the YouTube app on your Xbox one and click on proceed.
- After that, click on Allow access if the option comes up.
That’s all! You have successfully activated YouTube on your Xbox One and can now watch YouTube videos on any TV as long as your Xbox one is connected to it.
How to activate YouTube on Roku.
Just like on Xbox one, activating YouTube on Roku devices is easy. They also have similar steps to activate YouTube on them.
Follow the steps below religiously and you are sure to enjoy YouTube videos anywhere, anytime on your Roku device:
- Make sure your Roku device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, then connect your Roku device to a TV and sign in to your Roku account.
- On the home screen, select the option Channel Store and press Ok on your remote control
- Navigate to the Top Free option on the list and select YouTube, press OK
- Select the Add Channel option and press OK from your remote control.
- The Roku device will take some time to add it to your list of channels. After it has added, you can see the YouTube channel on your channel list.

- Then head over to youtube.com/activate from your laptop or mobile phone.
- Enter your Google account information if you are not already signed in on that browser. Do well to provide the same details with the one you used on your Roku device
- Once you’ve signed in, you will then have to enter the 8-digit code that the Roku device gave to you and then proceed.
- If the option of Allow Access appears, click on it and that’s all you need.
You can now access YouTube on your Roku device without any issues.
Signing in to YouTube on Nintendo
Once your Nintendo is connected to a TV and to a Wi-Fi network, you can access YouTube even without signing in unlike with other devices. However, signing in to YouTube on your Nintendo gives you access to your playlist, favorite videos, and your uploaded videos.
To sign in to YouTube on your Nintendo, follow the steps below:
- Go to the Wii Menu, and select YouTube.
- Click on “Start”, select the “Sign In & Settings”
- Click on “Sign In” and an 8-digit code will display on your screen.
- Get a PC or your mobile device and enter the youtube.com/activate URL on any web browser. If you are not signed in, you will be prompted to do so.
- After signing in, enter the 8-digit code and then follow the prompts until you complete the process.
- Once you complete the process, you can now access your playlist, favorite videos and your uploaded videos on Nintendo.
How to activate YouTube on Kodi
This is not as easy as the ones we’ve discussed so far. It is not too difficult either. Once you follow the steps that we give here without missing any, you are sure to have it installed, activated and working fine on your Kodi.
To activate YouTube on Kodi, follow these steps below:
- You will have to install YouTube first on Kodi. This can be done by going to Settings, selecting “add-ons”.
- Once you’ve selected add-on, you can now select “Install from add-ons”
- Navigate to “Video Add-ons” and select YouTube.
- Select Install and wait for Kodi to install YouTube on your gadget.
- Once installed, you can access YouTube Addon by going to videos and selecting “Add-ons”
- Open YouTube and click on Sign in. You will be given the normal 8-digit verification code.
- Get a PC or your mobile device, go to youtube.com/activate and enter the 8-digit code therein.
- Click on proceed and if you are told asked to “Allow Access”, kindly do that and voila! You are ready to access YouTube videos on your Kodi.
How to activate YouTube on your Apple TV.
The process is pretty straightforward and you don’t have to install YouTube first as in Kodi. All you need to do is to follow the process below:
- Go to Sign in & settings on your Apple TV.
- Select Sign in and the app will automatically give you the normal 8-digit code with which you will sign in. remember this code as usual.
- On your PC or smartphone, go to youtube.com/activate.
- If you are not already logged in to your Google account on the browser, you will be prompted to do so. When prompted, enter your Google account information and sign in.
- Enter the code given to you by the YouTube app on your Apple TV and proceed.
- Allow access if prompted to do so and that’s all!
- You can now enjoy your activated YouTube on your Apple TV and watch crystal-clear videos on your HD TV.
How to activate YouTube on Samsung TV
Unlike Apple TV, some Samsung TV models that do not have the YouTube app installed on it cannot activate YouTube with the youtube.com/activate method and so, you will have to find other options discussed in this post. Some of which are considering getting an Xbox, changing your Samsung TV or getting Kodi. However, if your Samsung TV model has the YouTube app, then it is pretty easy and can be done in with the few steps below:
- Go to Sign in & settings on your Samsung TV.
- Select Sign in and the app will automatically give you the normal 8-digit code with which you will sign in. remember this code as usual.
- On your PC or smartphone, go to youtube.com/activate.
- If you are not already logged in to your Google account on the browser, you will be prompted to do so. When prompted, enter your Google account information and sign in.
- Enter the code given to you by the YouTube app on your Samsung TV and proceed.
- Allow access if prompted to do so and that’s all!
- You can now enjoy your activated YouTube on your Samsung smart TV and watch crystal-clear videos on your HD TV.
How to activate YouTube on PlayStation 3
Just like the others, the process is similar and involves locating the YouTube app and doing the same thing as in Xbox one above. To activate YouTube on your PlayStation 3, follow these steps:
- On your PlayStation3, locate the YouTube app. If that’s the first time you are opening the app, you will have to enter your Google account information so as to be signed in.
- Then go to the sign in & settings options once you have signed in.
- Select “Sign in” and press X
- You will be given a code by the application. Write down this code and don’t close the screen
- Once you’ve gotten the code, head over to youtube.com/activate on either your phone or laptop.
- Enter the same google account information you used to sign in on your PlayStation3 to sign in.
- On the next screen, enter the code that you got from the YouTube app on your PlayStation3 and click on proceed.
- After that, click on Allow access if the option comes up.
- That’s all! You have successfully activated YouTube on your PlayStation3 and can now watch YouTube videos on any TV as long as your PlayStation3 is connected to it.
