Airdrops are ways in which developers of cryptocurrencies and tokens share their coins with people in a bid to make their coin occupy different wallets.
People sometimes get confused about what airdrops are and in this post, we will be talking about how to go about airdrops and why you should key into this.
The truth is that so many people get rich through airdrops and every day, they spend lots of time looking for airdrops and getting these free coins. They then HODL the coin till its value appreciates and BOOM! They sell them off and make cool cash.
Some airdrops are waves platform while others are ERC20 based token. You need to either have a waves wallet or any other Ether wallet to be able to participate in airdrops.
What do you need to be able to participate in airdrops?
This is a very important question that people need to know. I have received tons of emails from friends and my audience about how they have not been able to get tokens whenever they register for an airdrop.
To engage in an airdrop, you need the following:
- Bitcointalk account
- Twitter account
- Facebook account
- Email address
- Telegram account
- Eth address/ Waves address
- Some airdrops require more things like an Instagram, LinkedIn, Stemmit, Slack, Discord, Reddit, etc. or other social media and online accounts.
Let us discuss each of these in details:
Bitcointalk account: Bitcointalk.org is a website that was created by the Bitcoin maker himself Satoshi Nakamoto. It now has over a million registered users and now, covers so many aspects ranging from bitcoin, cryptocurrency, etc.
All airdrops require a bitcointalk account and the website has different ranks that range from Brand New, Newbie, Jr. Member, Member, Full member, Legendary, and Hero. Some airdrops require you to have reached a certain rank on Bitcointalk while some accept any rank at all. For you to increase your rank on bitcointalk, you will have to post new threads and comment on different topics on the platform. This also increases your reputation.
Head on to bitcointalk.org and register an account today and make be ready for airdrops. You might have to comment on the official post of the project on Bitcointalk before you can receive the token from the developers.
Twitter account: we all know the social media platform called Twitter. On it, you get to follow people and be followed too. Tweets are sent and can be liked, replied to and retweeted. Also, many known celebrities, artists, politicians and public figures are on tweeter and you can gain a lot from the platform.
Some airdrops require you to share a link to your twitter profile and you must have at least 20 followers on your account for this. This is to ensure that many people get to see your post and join the airdrop. If you do not have a twitter account, head to twitter.com and signup for an account. For you to get followers on twitter, you need to follow other people and also tweet topics that are trending with hashtags.
Facebook account: formed by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook is the king of other social media platforms. They can boast of about a billion active monthly users and with this, you can capitalize on for sharing your airdrop links. You might also have to get about 20 friends also on Facebook which is not a problem for most of us. Some already have up to 5000 friends on facebook. If you do not have a Facebook account, go to facebook.com and register for one and get ready for airdrops.
Email address: this is not also an issue because many people in this 21st century have more than one email addresses. Get any of them ready or a number of them ready for airdrops and register immediately for this. If you don’t have an email address, do well to visit either gmail.com, mail.yahoo.com or any other email provision sites and register for one.
Telegram account: some projects have telegram groups that require a user to join their telegram group and post a certain text before they can send the token for you. If you do not have a telegram account, head on to your smartphone’s app store and download the telegram application. Install the application and register with your phone number and get ready for airdrops that require participants to have a telegram account.
ETH address or waves address: all airdrops require a wallet where they will send the token to. They require ETH wallets and so, you have to create either an ETH address or a waves address. Some ETH wallets that you can register under include myetherwallet.com, coin base, Trezor, etc. There are some online ETH wallets, mobile wallets, and hardware wallets. If you are an Android user, then I advise getting the imToken wallet app.
To open a waves address, head on to wavewallet.io, click on create wallets and then, complete the registration requirements. You will be given a unique address and your seed which you are not advised to lose.
Other social and online accounts that are required by some airdrops are simple for you to create. Just research on the accounts that are required by an airdrop, open it and don’t miss any airdrop.
Conclusion:
Airdrops are serious ways of making money on the internet through cryptocurrencies. These airdrops are not investments as you do not have to pay any money to secure the coins – they are given out freely by the developers.
