Nigeria and indeed many countries of the world have plunged
into deep recession. High inflation rates and other hike in services are clear
indications of this. Fluctuation of the price of Nigerian naira to the dollars
and some other currencies is now the order of the day.
A visit to the market to buy ordinary food stuffs and other
commodities will tell you the depth of this recession; traders tell you every
day that the prices of goods increased because of the fall of the Naira to
dollars.
This leaves the ordinary Nigerian in a sorrowful state. Probably
he or she spends a lot with little or no increase in salary or no major source
of income. Some have borrowed a lot that they can’t even take the path that
lead to where their creditors may find them and so many live in fear.
It is also important to note that even in this recession; so
many people make money also. According to an Igbo adage “Ani adighi mma bu uru
ndi nze” which when translated to English means “that the economy is bad is
profit for the rich”. We hear in the news of millions of dollars that were
stolen by some politicians and their allies. We also hear stories of people
making it real big.
The big question then is “what is the way out for an ordinary Nigerian in this recession?” we will try to answer this big question in this article. Just keep focused as we feed your eyes with this unique way out.
What is the best way out in this recession?
We would like to state at this point that this option has
been used by several people both offline and online and they have made lots of
money through this.
We would also take a leaf from the daily activities of
traders that resembles this way out! I visited a shop in one of Nigeria’s
popular markets to buy a smartphone. When I entered the shop and asked the
owner whether he had the type of phone I wanted to buy, he offered me a sit and
made me comfortable saying he would get the phone for me.
He then sent his sales boy to another shop to buy the phone and bring it for me. Did you get the gist from this? He didn’t have the phone but never admitted that. That is the spirit to succeed in this recession: the spirit of yes I can or yes I do!
Many people are looking for others who can help them achieve
something and are willing to pay for it. You can also tap into this and make
extra income for yourself.
If someone asks you if you can do something, never say you
can’t. Today we have lots of technologies that have made life easy.
For example, if someone asks you whether you can design a
website, don’t say no. yes I mean it! Tell the fellow that you can and will get
back to him, then find a web designer, reach an agreement with him, add extra
amount to the guy’s bill.
Then get back to the guy who needs a website and
charge him. Once the job is done, you pay the designer (of course you should get
some percentage of the actual fee) and then, pocket the extra amount you added
too.
Conclusion:
Hope you learnt a new thing today? Apply this, make extra
money and help yourself out of this recession. We would like to hear from you. Comment
what you feel about this. Do you think it will help?
