This tutorial is meant to provide alternative ways of accessing the contents of our android smartphone on our PC browser. This could be of help if you're not with a cable to connect your phone or you just want to do things a different way which is totally unique from the regular.
By this you can get access to your Phone’s File Manager, Music,Videos, Contacts, Messaging and more just via
WiFi connection and also its a most reliable and faster way to transfer the file over a wireless connection. This method helps you a lot when you don’t have any Card Reader or Usb cable for the Connection. So, don’t spend money for any transfer Devices anymore. Yes, i am talking about the Android application named “AIRDROID”. This application is supposed to be installed only in your Android devices for getting file access over wifi.

TO GET STARTED
i. download and install AirDroid
from the Market. Once you run the application you will be given an IP address and a self-generated password. Both of these will help you connect to your Android using your computer.
Note: Please make sure, both your phone and
your computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi
network.
If they are not connected to the same Wi-Fi network and you don't have any nearby wireless connection, follow this step below:
1）Create a Wi-Fi hotspot on your Android device. The detailed steps may vary for different devices,
but should be similar to this: Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Tethering & portable hotspot and enable Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
You can tap Set up Wi-Fi hotspot to set a password for the hotspot if you need extra security:
2) Connect your computer to the Android hotspot
wireless network you just created.
ii. Now open your browser on the desktop and enter the IP address along with the port number you see on the AirDroid main screen in the URL field, and press enter.

ii. Now open your browser on the desktop and enter the IP address along with the port number you see on the AirDroid main screen in the URL field, and press enter.
iii. Your browser will communicate with AirDroid application running on your mobile and open the password authentication screen.
iv. Enter the password AirDroid has generated for you and immediately,
you get a wonderful dashboard from where you can view and control almost
any part or function of your Android smartphone.
